Aethnic has participated throughout the 2020-2021 academic year in the FuTurismes Program , organized by Barcelona Activ to promote local entrepreneurship in sustainable tourism.

From among 25 initial projects, Aethnic’s Sustainable Tourism Network project was chosen along with 13 others to enjoy complete specialized training.

Its objective has been to facilitate the drafting of Business Plans to promote innovative proposals in tourism management. With the support of Futurismes, Aethnic has made progress in the implementation of the Sustainable Tourism Network project.

The sessions of this edition had to be held online due to the pandemic. But on July 14, in the gardens of the Hotel H10 Mimosa in Barcelona, the final session was held with the physical participation of all the participants and those responsible for Barcelona Activa.

The end-of-year event was also attended by the Councilor for Tourism of the Barcelona City Council, the provincial deputy for Tourism, the president of the ACAVe travel agencies and the president of the Hotel Association, among other personalities.

2021 Futurism Awards

Among the 14 participating projects, three have been awarded with financial contributions of €10,000 to start their projects. They have been the project of Darn, Darn driven by two young entrepreneurs from the Penedès, which promotes discovery activities in the field of artisan gastronomy and Areu oenology in Catalonia, the project unvoice, of digital technology at the service of guiding tourist groups to reduce noise in guides’ explanations, and the project Emotion History, cultural tourism agency that organizes unusual and immersive experiences in historic houses and unique spaces.
