HOSP-ECO Revolutionizes Sustainability in Hospitality with Measurable Innovations

Sustainability has ceased to be a passing trend in the hotel sector, becoming an urgent need. To this end, the HOSP-ECO project, managed by Aethnic in collaboration with European partners, is driving real change by offering practical solutions for hotels to measurably reduce their environmental impact.

One of the main innovations of HOSP-ECO is an environmental impact calculator, designed specifically for the hotel industry. This tool allows hotels to accurately measure their ecological footprint, facilitating the implementation of measures to reduce energy, water and resource consumption. A prominent example is the elimination of daily washing of sheets, a simple practice that can significantly reduce water and energy consumption.

In addition to technical solutions, HOSP-ECO is focused on training leaders within the sector. Through training programs, hotel professionals are acquiring the necessary skills to lead the change towards more sustainable practices, ensuring that these transformations are lasting.

The project, which will end in December 2024, is scheduled for its last meeting in November in Vienna. During this event, the final details of the project will be adjusted and additional training will be provided to European hoteliers to consolidate their commitment to sustainability.

HOSP-ECO, in collaboration with partners from Portugal, Cyprus, Austria, Greece and Bulgaria, marks the beginning of a new era in hospitality, where commitment to the planet becomes a priority. Since its inception, Aethnic has leveraged tourism as a tool to foster sustainable development and promote the social and solidarity economy. Through projects like HOSP-ECO, Aethnic continues to lead the way in international cooperation and innovation, creating a lasting positive impact on both people and the planet.
