On December 12, the event “Transforming Hospitality: Green Innovation in Action” , a multiplier event organized within the framework of the European project HOSP.ECO, was successfully held. The event took place at the École Ferrières in Barcelona, where more than 30 participants, including students and professionals from the sector, met to learn about the latest innovations in sustainability applied to hospitality.
The meeting stood out for its practical and collaborative approach, with an agenda that included:
✅ The official presentation of the HOSP.ECO project : Julián Bermúdez, European project manager at Aethnic, explained how this project seeks to accelerate ecological and digital transitions, promoting sustainable leadership in the hotel sector at a European level.
✅ Demonstration of the HOSP.ECO digital tool : Julián Bermúdez also presented this innovative tool designed to measure and reduce the environmental impact in HORECA establishments. Discover how the tool works.
✅ Exhibition of sustainable leadership training modules : Emma Riboli, European project manager at Aethnic, presented the training materials developed, focused on training leaders capable of implementing real and sustainable changes in the sector. Check out the training modules here.
✅ Reflections on the future of sustainability in hospitality : Esther Binkhorst, founder of Tip-Top-Tourism and associate professor at Ecole Ferrières, highlighted the need to place sustainability as a fundamental pillar for redefining luxury and hospitality.
✅ Discussion panels with industry experts : Representatives from organizations such as SEBA and LEMUR shared good practices and reflections on green innovation, emphasizing the importance of moving towards a more responsible hospitality model aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) .
The conference highlighted the importance of moving towards more sustainable and responsible hospitality, demonstrating that, with the right tools and training, the sector can significantly reduce its environmental footprint and become a benchmark for green innovation. The activity is part of the efforts of the HOSP.ECO project to promote tangible change in the sector, providing tools and resources that allow measuring, analyzing and transforming the environmental impact into a positive one.
