The Ethnic Association, together with Alba Sud, Calidoscoop and Opcions , promote the TurismESS project with the aim of consolidating a responsible and transformative tourism ecosystem linked to the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS) .
Within the framework of Phase 1 of the project, we have systematized four SSE experiences linked to tourism that highlight keys to success and shared learnings. They are initiatives that connect tourism with food sovereignty, agroecological production, community culture and international cooperation.
The entities analyzed were:
-
Barcelona Farmers’ Markets , which bring together farmers and the community through short marketing circuits.
-
Can Calopa , a vineyard and cooperative project that combines agroecological production and social inclusion.
-
Androna Cultura , cultural management initiative and collective memory in the Raval neighborhood.
-
Abarka coop , an association that works for community and solidarity tourism with roots in Senegal.
The articles have been prepared by Alba Sud and will be published weekly on its website , starting September 16. Aethnic and the rest of the promoting entities will disseminate them through our networks and communication channels.
This series of articles is an opportunity to learn about initiatives that show how tourism can contribute to social and environmental transformation, based on values such as proximity, social justice and intercooperation .
