Training Session and Hackathon “Accessible Tourism in Poblenou”

On October 9, the Aethnic team held the Session “Accessible Tourism in Poblenou” with the aim of detecting deficiencies and opportunities in relation to the tourist activity of the neighborhood. The event, which aimed to become a meeting and participation space between the public sector, private sector and civil society in Poblenou, was attended by 31 people, including representatives of cultural facilities, tourist accommodation, travel agencies, tourist guides and both public and private organizations that work to improve and promote the well-being of people with functional diversity.

The work session was held at the Centre Cívic Can Felipa, in the “Teatre” room, which had numerous adaptations in terms of accessibility: direct access by elevator from the ground floor, access ramp, adapted toilets and a magnetic loop. In addition, the Conference was developed with the special collaboration of 4 students from the EMAV (School of Audiovisual Media of Barcelona) who were in charge of the live subtitling of the session. The event had two different thematic blocks: a training and then a hackathon. Download the full report to know the results of the event.

This work session was possible thanks to the support of the Barcelona City Council, within the framework of the projects Impulsem el Que Fas.
