Trip based on the criteria of sustainability and tourist responsibility that aim to strengthen local economies, value natural resources and make known the social reality of the towns of Casamance. At the same time, we offer an authentic and enriching experience of cultural exchange. Strong points:
- Collaboration with Kalamisso Group in Oussouye, through a local craft workshop in the region.
- Support for ASSET’s activities that enable support for young local entrepreneurs and other small local tourism businesses.
- Cultural immersion and appreciation of the local traditions of the region.
- Accommodations in camps managed by small entities and local families that promote the local economy and the preservation of the environment.
- Respect for decent working conditions for all actors.
Groups : The group capacity is a maximum of 12 people and a minimum of 2 people. Both for regular outings and for tailor-made outings.
Types of families and children’s ages: The groups are made up of all kinds of families, usually there are always one or several single-parent families. The ages of the children are very varied (from a few months to pre-teens), we always try to adapt the pace of the group to this circumstance. If you have any doubts, you can ask the ages of the minors listed in each group.
Distances : For your peace of mind, we take into account the mileage on the special routes for families, taking special care that the routes are not very long or very heavy.
Accommodations : We have looked for accommodation (within the characteristics of each trip and the country) where you can feel at ease.
Meals : We have taken into account the issue of diet throughout the route. Our accompanying guide will always be ready to accompany and/or recommend places.
Milk and nappies: Many parents ask about nappies, potties and powdered or special milk for babies: it is best to bring them from Spain as in Senegal they do not always have specific products for babies. anyway, for those parents who need it, on the day of arrival we can accompany you to the nearest supermarket to do your shopping.
Transport : Minibus with driver. Depending on the final number of people, the trip will be made in one or two small minibuses to make the route as easy as possible. All of our vehicles are minibuses dedicated to tourism, which are subject to a series of comprehensive mandatory inspections by the State. We have approved highchairs and booster seats to make the routes in total safety and peace of mind for those parents who wish to do so. (if you want this service, specify in the email and inform us of the children’s ages).
Accompanying guides: All our drivers, as well as our guide, speak Spanish perfectly. The people who will always be accompanying the group are people with a special gift to be able to face the different situations that may arise during the route. They also have extensive knowledge to answer the doubts of young and old. Since he is a person who knows Senegal, his tasks include informing you about the possibilities offered by each place and suggesting activities for you, even if you don’t necessarily have to participate. You can modify the route only for fully justified reasons and for the smooth development of the trip.
Flights : Numerous companies fly to Senegal.. You can find the best prices in the recommended comparators Skyscanner or Atrapalo.
Documentation : Both adults and minors must bring a valid passport, which must not expire before 6 months after arriving in Senegal.
Visa: There is no need to apply for a visa to enter The Gambia and Senegal for trips of less than 28 days.
Airport: We recommend that you always carry a pen to fill in the police control documents, and always have the reservation we send you with you, as well as the name of the first night’s accommodation in Banjul.
Currency: The Senegalese cfa is the local currency of Senegal and the equivalent is 650 cfa = €1. There is no difficulty in exchanging or getting cash through credit cards. We recommend that you make the change at the exchange offices in Senegal. Not inside the airport.
Luggage : We recommend traveling as light as possible. Temperatures range between 25-30º and can cool down during the night, a sweater or windbreaker is recommended. Sunglasses, cap, sunscreen, etc. No need to bring sleeping bags or blankets. Bring a towel and flip-flops for the shower.
Health: It is convenient to visit a tropical medicine center to inform us about the relevant vaccines. It is also important to consider the proximity and quality of international health centers during the trip. On the other hand, we will be careful with water and drinks, taking only bottled products that we will find without difficulty. If a specific treatment is to be followed, the medicines must be brought from Spain since in Senegal they may not be available in local pharmacies. Although if they wish, it doesn’t hurt to bring antihistamines, anti-inflammatories and anti-diarrheals and anything specific they may need for their children.
Responsible tourism: We want to inform our travelers of the importance of respecting the environment and the customs of the country. We seek to promote responsible tourism from a social, economic and environmental point of view. During our trip we will visit social and cooperative actions that promote the development of towns and their inhabitants.
