On December 10, coinciding with International Human Rights Day, Aethnic and fapmi-ECPAT Spain organized in Barcelona the conference "Tourism and childhood: challenges and opportunities for a violence-free model", a meeting that brought together public administrations, social entities, tourism companies and professionals in the sector with a common objective: to move towards a more ethical, responsible and protective tourism model for children and adolescents.

On November 14, Aethnic brought together more than 60 people at Ca l'Alier for the conference "Towards regenerative tourism: rethinking the present, building the future". A space for deep, honest and plural debate that put on the table the limits of the current tourism model and the emerging paths towards a regenerative model, capable of generating ecological, social and community vitality.

Coinciding with World Tourism Day, we present the report “Tourism and children's rights: towards a violence-free model”, prepared with fapmi-ECPAT Spain and the Barcelona City Council. The diagnosis, carried out in the city during 2025, analyses how tourism can generate risks for children and adolescents, highlighting the lack of protocols, training deficiencies and areas of greatest vulnerability. The report proposes actions and paves the way towards safer and more responsible tourism.

Aethnic, Alba Sud, Calidoscoop and Opcions are promoting the TurismESS project to strengthen tourism linked to the Social and Solidarity Economy. In the first phase we have systematized four inspiring initiatives: Barcelona Farmers' Markets, Can Calopa, Androna Cultura and Abarka. From September 16, Alba Sud will publish the articles weekly on its website and the entities will disseminate them.

Last Wednesday, December 4, we met to analyze the value chain of conventional tourism and identify opportunities for the intersection with the Social and Solidarity Economy.

Last Friday, June 14, we held the "Tourism and Social Economy" Conference with the aim of promoting debate and reflection on the current state of the ESS in Tourism, and generating a space for transversal co-working with the different actors of the fabric of the territory to contribute to the strengthening and articulation of the TurismESS ecosystem.
